As far as I know, this happens with all short rows. I’m not short I’m stitch size shirt. (In the last picture of your link you can see where once you put that sock heel on, there will still be holes along the center.) I prefer to make a heel flap instead to avoid this problem, and if you look at the project page for this pattern you can see most of them have a heel flap too. Thanks! Heel flaps still scare me a bit as I’m not that good with picking up stitches… I might try on some baby socks first. Heel flaps don’t scare me, they just aren’t what I feel a sock has. Because we are used to commercial socks. I can’t imagine socks without short row heels.

One way I tried that sort of worked, was, I’m not short I’m stitch size shirt. I didn’t wrap. Instead, on the stage where you would pick up, I knitted it and the loop below the next stitch, this did work out as pretty hopeless. I had the same trouble so I kept trying out different heel methods. The only heel that works for me is the Fleegle Heel (I am doing toe-up. Not sure if there’s a video for cuff-down if that’s what you’re doing). It’s super easy too, so give it a try. I had a few gaps in my first sock and my knitting group said it was just something you figured out with practice, that the first one would always have gaps [though I’m not sure about that, I’d debate the second one looked a bit worse than the first.   Mauna Loa (tallest mountain base to peak, just most is covered by seawater) is only about 1000′ taller than Everest is. So that monolith is significantly larger than any mountain on the planet.
