And not it is not all desert. If you live in LA. You can be surfing at 7 am. Hiking 9k ft mountains at noon. Ride dirt bikes in the desert at 3 pm and then hit up the town in the evening.

I’m not from California, but I can certainly see why it has the population it does. Ghetto is just black magic that hasn’t been commercialized shirt. No drug dealer is going to announce to the cops “this is where you buy drugs” and gangs use gang graffiti to mark territory. Throwing shoes on a power line is someone being a dick, or someone leaving their mark on their community by leaving their shoes, which are a metaphorical collection of the places their owner has traveled, displayed for everyone to see. The drug and gang myths come from outsiders ascribing classist BS to shit they don’t understand. Just kids screwing around. Sometimes a bully will take another kids shoes and do it. Other times, kids do it to their own shoes just because they’re goofy kids. It’s not a gang thing. The only things you need are overhead wires, a climate where people wear shoes, and kids that still hang out outside.

I had to stop at a gas station in the worst neighborhood in Houston once. Ghetto is just black magic that hasn’t been commercialized shirt. They sold peeled boiled eggs and dead crickets at the counter. They were just chilling in a wicker basket at room temperature. I asked the attendant wtf was going on – and his response was “crackhead food brother”. I had no idea. Love the stores with the hot sausage/pig feet/pickled egg containers with no tongs nearby. Just put your hand on in there and grab what you want. South Carolina here. Had a store a 5 minute from my house that had me lol. Miss that store though, the owner would let you grab shut n put it on your tab just pay me back later. When we were in California, we had to stop in this really ghetto gas station because my sister had to use the restroom. There was a dude that shouted to my dad who was waiting in the car: “Yo, you look like the Family Guy!” then did that heroin addict laugh, and walked into the back alley of the gas station, presumably to do more heroin.
